My SAE project is raising and showing dairy goats. My plan for the future is to eventually hold my American FFA Degree and graduate from the University of Missouri with a degree in veterinary medicine. Besides FFA, I am involved in 4-H, band, FCA, Student Council, and Youth Group. The thing I enjoy most about FFA is getting the opportunity to compete with contests you will use in life such as Parliamentary Procedure and public speaking. I also enjoy making new friends from all different schools through FFA. Hi. My name is Ethan. I am a junior at Chillicothe High School. This is my third year in FFA. My SAE consists of showing market hogs. I am a member of Hunting and Fishing Club, and I enjoy doing odd jobs for family and friends. Hello, my name is Anna. I am currently a junior at Chillicothe High School. This is my third year of FFA. I hold the Chapter FFA Degree. My SAE project is raising dogs and a cat. I am also raising a ferret. Other than FFA, I am not involved in other activities besides church. I enjoy FFA; but the thing about FFA I enjoy the most is Barnwarming. I highly recommend FFA to students. Hello my name is Colton. I am a junior this year; and I have been taking classes at the Litton Ag Campus for 3 years now. In the past, I have grown a garden full of corn pole beans, squash, cucumber, and carrots - it was a very good looking garden. This year, my garden was not very good because of the lack of water. Also this year, I showed a heifer at the county fair. Some of the classes I have taken are Ag Science I and II, Large Animal Science, and Ag Construction I and II. I like FFA because it opens a lot of doors that will help me in my future plans.
Hello! My name is Alicia. I am currently a junior at Chillicothe High School. I am involved in various activities; volleyball, junior exec, secretary of junior sorosis pledges, student council, girls "C" club and FFA. I am currently an FFA chapter officer and hold the Chapter FFA Degree. My SAE project is market hogs. After graduation, I would like to attend the University of Missouri and become a registered nurse. From there, I would like to specialize in neonatal nursing and come back to settle down in my hometown of Chillicothe. I would say that my favorite part of FFA is being able to participate on contest teams and raising money for Barnwarming. Through FFA, I have had several opportunities to do great things, and I have learned many valuable life lessons which make me who I am today. Hi, my name is Brandon. I am a junior at Southwest R-1 High School. I am a chapter second Vice-President. I hold the Chapter FFA Degree. Crop production, beef cattle, forage, and working on Bothwell Farm are my SAE Projects. After high school, I plan on going to MU and graduating with an Ag Business Degree. Then, I plan to return to work on the family farm. I am in several sports such as Basketball, Baseball, and Track. My favorite part of FFA is the class and all the activities.
Madi - I am a senior at Chillicothe High School, and I am a fourth year FFA member. I currently hold the Chapter FFA Degree. I am the chapter 2nd vice president, as well as the Area II Historian. My SAE project is in Home and Community Development, which involves community service projects and volunteering. I also have an SAE in placement working at Walmart. I am also actively involved in tennis, FCCLA, CHS Players, CHS Swarm, managing the boys' tennis team, and science club. My favorite part of FFA is being an area officer because it allows me to serve a larger area of FFA membership. After I graduate, I plan to attend Saint Louis University as a pre-medical public health student, and then I plan to attend medical school at the same college to become a pediatric critical care physician. FFA has helped me develop strong leadership skills, which will greatly benefit me in my profession later in life. The best advice I have to offer to all younger members is to be involved in every activity possible in the FFA. The more a member is involved, the better the experience they will have. Hannah - I am a senior at Chillicothe High School. This is my fourth year in the FFA, and I currently hold the Chapter FFA Degree. My SAE project includes working at Hy-Vee. Activities I enjoy participating in are Barnwarming, FFA week and chapter trips. I am also active in the CHS Girls tennis, band, and Auxiliary and yearbook staff. After I graduate, I plan on attending Northwest Missouri State University and earning my degree in veterinarian science. My ag teachers have all had an impact on me throughout my years in FFA. My advice to all upcoming FFA members is to be active in the chapter events and have an SAE because it will teach you responsibility and skills.
Hi, my name is Kaitlyn. I am a senior at Chillicothe High School. This is my fourth year in FFA. I currently hold the Chapter Degree and am working toward the State FFA degree. My SAE project was raising and showing two hogs. I just recently got accepted to be in the National FFA Choir. I was also selected to the State FFA Choir and Talent. I am also a Varsity Basketball Cheerleader for the high school. My favorite part of FFA is the great opportunities to meet new people and to experience new things. In the future, I plan on going to Missouri Western to become a Registered Nurse. Sarah - This is my senior year at CHS. I have been a member of the Chillicothe FFA during the last three years. My SAE project consists of raising, breeding, showing and selling Flemish Giant rabbits. An additional project I do with my rabbits is photography. I have taken pictures for Easter, Mother's Day, and this year, I will be doing Christmas pictures. The last two years I have taken pictures of little kids with my rabbits and this has been a very good income, and it is also a lot of fun to work with children. When I show my rabbits, I get to meet a lot of people and visit with them about the breed of rabbit that I show. I've made some really good friends with people that I've competed against, and I've also made a lot of money selling them. I have sold rabbits to nine states and all over Missouri. After graduation, I hope to attend NCMC or Missouri Valley. I would like to pursue a career in Agriculture. Being in FFA is probably the best decision I've made. FFA is a great organization to be in - it has helped me with my public speaking and responsibility. Besides FFA, I am also involved in band, the hunting and fishing club and the FFA Trapshooting team. Some of my favorite things about being in FFA are the trips, meeting new people, trapshooting, working at the Litton Ag Center in the greenhouse and around campus.
Hi my name is Anthony, and I am a senior at Chillicothe High School. I currently hold a Chapter FFA Degree and am in my fourth year in ag. My SAE project for this year is lawn care. The thing I enjoy about ag is working in the shop. My favorite thing to do in the shop is welding. I plan on attending all of the meetings and things in FFA. I plan on going to college in welding or in auto technology. Hi, my name is Michaela, and I am a senior at Chillicothe High School. I am in my fourth year of FFA. I currently hold the Chapter FFA Degree. My SAE project consists of showing market hogs and babysitting. FFA has taught me a lot about agriculture. Outside of FFA, I am involved in the cross country team. Some of my favorite FFA activities are attending the county fair as an exhibitor, taking care of my animals, FFA Week, and Barnwarming.
Hello, my name is Taylor. I am currently a senior at Chillicothe High School. I currently hold the Chapter FFA Degree. My SAE project includes showing and raising market hogs on my farm. After graduation, I plan to major in Animal Science. Outside of FFA, I play softball, and I'm an officer in the Hunting and Fishing Club. I am active in the outdoors, hunting and fishing and spending time with my family. My two favorite parts of FFA have been attending National Convention in Indianapolis, Indiana, and the Washington Leadership Conference in Washington, DC along with Barnwarming. Sierra - I am a senior at CHS, and this is my fourth year in FFA. I currently hold the Chapter FFA Degree. I have four older siblings. My SAE project is community service. For community service hours, I help with the local Outdoor Classic and the Chautauqua Petting Zoo every year. My favorite things about FFA are going outside or to the greenhouse for class and our chapter trips. My advice to someone who is new to FFA is to participate in all meetings and activities. I am also a member of CHS band, FCCLA, and the Hunting and Fishing Club.
Troy - I am a senior at Chillicothe High School. I have been a member of the Chillicothe FFA for the past three and a half years. I have two younger brothers. We live in Chillicothe and own a farm northeast of town. My SAE project is a row crop operation. The project has taught me many skills in the area of row crop farming as well as how to keep records and manage money. The main skill I have gained in FFA is responsibility. I currently hold the Chapter FFA Degree. I am also involved in baseball and soccer. This will also be my 4th year being involved in those activities. In the future I plan on row crop farming. What I enjoy most about FFA are the activities and the benefits we get from it. My advice to the younger students would be to stick with whatever you start and don't give up when things get tough. Sarah - This is my senior year at Chillicothe High School. I have been a member of the Chillicothe FFA during the past three and a half years. I have one younger brother. We live a few miles out in the country. My SAE project includes raising goats. I also am a lifeguard at the Chillicothe Aquatic Center. Having an SAE project has helped me gain very valuable skills for my future which include attending college and getting a nursing degree. The two skills I have gained the most are responsibility and the knowledge of rewards for my effort. Responsibility is self-defining and by rewarding my efforts, I mean the more effort I put into my SAE, the greater reward and pride I have in the outcome. My ag teachers have all had an impact upon me, but Mr. Black has taught me that working hard in school will help you later in life. My advice to younger students is to get involved in everything you do, because if you don't, you will definitely regret it in the future.
Trevor - I am a senior at Chillicothe High School. I have been a member of the Chillicothe FFA during the last three and a half years of high school. I live with my
grandparents on a farm northwest of Chillicothe. I have three younger siblings. The SAE I have had has been composed of a Hereford cow, steer, a horse and a part-time job at Taco Bell. The variety in my project has allowed me many opportunities to gain valuable skills for my future which includes a major in agriculture business. The two skills I have gained the most are responsibility and the knowledge of rewards for my effort. Responsibility is self-defining and by rewarding my efforts, I mean the more effort I put into my SAE the greater reward and pride I have in the outcome. My ag teachers have had a huge impact on my life. Mrs. Schreiner helps me get through the day by waking me up every morning when I come to first hour. My advice to younger students would be to try new things and don't ever regret what you've done.
Samantha - This is my senior year at Chillicothe High School. I have been a member of the Chillicothe FFA during the last three and a half years. I have one older sibling and one younger sibling. We live in town, but my grandma has a farm in the country. My SAE includes raising and showing swine. I also am a lifeguard at the Chillicothe Aquatic Center. My SAE project has helped me gain very valuable skills for my future which include attending college and getting a nursing degree. The two skills I have gained the most responsibility and the knowledge of rewards for my effort. Responsibility is self-defining and by rewarding my efforts, I mean the more effort I put into my SAE the greater reward and pride I have in the outcome. My ag teachers have all had an impact upon me, but Mr. Black has taught me that working hard in school will help you later in life. My advice to younger students is to get involved in everything you do, because if you don't, you will definitely regret it later.
Orren - This is my senior year at Chillicothe High School. I have been a member of the Chillicothe FFA during the last three and a half years. I have three older siblings, all of which were in FFA during their high school careers. We live north of Chillicothe and farm several acres. My SAE project includes row crops and raising cattle. The variety in my project has allowed me many opportunities to gain valuable skills for my future which includes attending North Central Missouri College and taking welding class this year at Grand River Technical School. The two skills I have gained the most are responsibility and the knowledge of new things to help with my career. Responsibility is self-defining; and by having more knowledge in my fields, I can better myself in what I do. My dad has had a big impact on me with everything he does. I hope I can be as successful as he is in the agricultural part of my life. My advice to younger students would be to participate in a lot of activities and don't just be a stick in the mud because the more things you do the more fun you'll have in FFA. Lizzie - I am currently a senior at Chillicothe high school. This is my fourth year as a member of the Chillicothe FFA Chapter. I have to say that I have learned a lot through my experiences in the FFA, especially from the work I have spent on my SAE project. I am a courtesy checker at the Chillicothe Hy-Vee, I was a lifeguard this past summer at the Chillicothe Aquatic Center, and I have a small lawn-care business of my own that my dad has supervised throughout the years. Each of these jobs has taught me hard work, communication skills, and responsibility. Being in FFA has taught me that I am capable of doing more than I thought and that would be something I would like new members of FFA to realize as well. Even if you don't think you can do something in an Ag class or in an FFA activity, you will never know until you try, and who knows, you may surprise yourself. After I graduate high school, I plan to go to Northwest Missouri State University in Maryville. I plan to major in broadcasting with a minor in animal science.
Nick - I am a senior at Chillicothe High School. This is my fourth year in FFA, and I currently hold the Chapter FFA Degree. My SAE project includes placement, which involves me being employed at the local Taco Bell. The skills I have learned while working there are that even if you are having a bad day or you just don't feel like working, you need to. This year for my SAE I plan on raising my total income before I go off to college. The things I enjoy most about the FFA are the chapter trips, the Ag classes, and the activities that we get involved in. After high school, I plan on going to NCMC and receiving my associate's degree in business management. From FFA, I learned that hard work pays off in the end. Outside FFA, I'm involved in Science Club and Hunting and Fishing Club. Leslee - I have three sisters. My older sister is a previous FFA member. I am a senior at Chillicothe High School, and this is my fourth year of being an FFA member. My SAE project consists of beef and swine. I show at both state and county fair and enjoy it very much. I have shown beef for three years, and swine for one. I have learned two major skills from being an FFA member. First, I have learned the true meaning of responsibility. Not only through raising beef and swine, but also through having to keep up with the meetings and other events of this organization. Leadership is another skill that has come from being involved in FFA. I currently hold the Chapter FFA Degree. Outside FFA, I am active in girls soccer, 4-H, and Hunting and Fishing Club.
Jordan - This is my senior year at Chillicothe High School. I have been a member of the Chillicothe FFA chapter for the last three and a half years. I have three older brothers. I live in Dawn with my mother, but I also live in the middle of Chillicothe with my father. I have had many different Supervised Agricultural Experiences that included working part-time at McDonalds and now working on Ginn Farms that my stepmother owns. With this variety, it has taught me the values of being connected with people and also the value of a strong work ethic that I can carry with me to other occupations I will acquire. I was a Crew Trainer at McDonalds and that taught me that a strong leader and good training are the foundation to a smooth running operation. My job has given me the work ethic that I will carry with me into attending the University of Missouri in Columbia and later owning my own bio-medical engineering firm. My Ag teachers have had the greatest influence on me - more than any other teacher or adult I have met in high school. All of them have taught me that connections in your life are everything and that being a strong leader is not only being able to take on large responsibly, but learning to divide leadership to amongst others. I would like to leave my younger students with one of my favorite sayings by Albert Einstein, "Learn from yesterday, live for today, hope for tomorrow. The important thing is not to stop questioning." Keara - This is my senior year at Chillicothe High School. I have been a member of the Chillicothe FFA during the last three and a half years. All four of my older siblings were in FFA during their high school careers. We farm several acres. The SAE Project I have includes 12 acres of milo and a steer. The variety in my project has allowed me many opportunities to gain valuable skills for my future which includes attending North Central Missouri College and taking EMT classes this year at Grand River Technical School. The two skills I have gained the most are responsibility and the knowledge of new things to help with my career. Responsibility is self-defining; and by having more knowledge in my fields I can better myself in what I do. My dad has had a big impact on me with everything he does. I hope I can be as successful as he is in the agricultural part of my life. My advice to younger students would be to participate in a lot of activities and don't just be a stick in the mud because the more things you do, the more fun you'll have in FFA.
John... This is my senior year at Southwest High School. This is also my fourth year in FFA. My SAE project is raising and milking dairy cows. Some things I have learned in FFA are how to weld better and how to manage my money. After high school, I plan on joining the pipeline crew. I have been involved in football, basketball, baseball, track, student council, and wrestling. Words of advice to younger students are to try everything, don't be the shy one, and it's better to be involved so you will have more fun. Hannah... This is my senior year in high school, and I have been a member of the Chillicothe FFA Chapter for all four years while I have been in high school. I have 5 sisters and 4 brothers. One of my sisters was also in FFA all 4 years of her high school career. I live in town on the edge of city limits, and my SAE project is showing my steer. I am a cashier at Wal-Mart and am working on getting a second job soon. FFA has taught me some responsibility and given me some knowledge of agriculture. After school, I plan to go to college to be a sonogram technician and hopefully move to Florida. I always try to be a good role model to all the younger kids because the world gets worse and worse every day. They need someone to look at to guide them on the right paths.
Derek... This is my senior year at Chillicothe High School. I have been a member of the Chillicothe FFA chapter during the last three and a half years. I live in Chillicothe, and my family has have farms south of Chula, Laredo, and Tina-Avalon. My Supervised Agricultural Experience consists of 5 acres of soybeans, my summer internship at the Litton Ag Center, and mowing. The diversity of my projects has given me much responsibility, developing my work habits, and showing me the true value of a dollar. I have gained many opportunities and skills for my lifelong agricultural career. In my future, I would like to attend North Central Missouri College and transfer to Northwest Missouri State University. Since being active in this agricultural organization, I have participated in monthly meetings, Barnwarming, trapshooting, contest teams, and national convention, along with many other activities my chapter has offered. Participating has given me many traits for becoming a leader, being accountable, and becoming diligent in my work as well.

Outside of FFA, I am actively involved in softball, basketball, and soccer, as well as many other clubs and organizations. My favorite part of FFA is being an officer because it allows me to represent FFA in many different ways. My two favorite activities I have attended throughout FFA have been National Convention in Indianapolis, Indiana, and Washington Leadership Conference in Washington, DC. After I graduate, I plan to attend either the University of Missouri-Columbia or Northwest Missouri State University. FFA has helped me develop strong leadership skills, and responsibility which will greatly benefit me later in life. The best advice I have to offer to all younger members is to be involved in every activity possible in the FFA. The more a member is involved, the better the experience they will have.
Hi, my name is Dallas. I am a senior at Chillicothe High School. I currently hold a chapter degree in FFA and am in my fourth year in ag. My SAE project for this year is raising livestock such as goats and sheep. The thing I enjoy about ag is working in the shop. My favorite thing to do in the shop is welding. I plan on participating with the ag mechanics team and joining the army after graduating high school. I'm hoping that I get a mechanics job in the military. Carley - I am a senior at the Chillicothe High School, and this is my 4th year in FFA. I currently hold the Chapter FFA Degree. I have participated in public speaking for the past 3 years. My SAE project is my job. I am a lifeguard at the YMCA and at the Chillicothe Aquatic Center during the summers. I love working with kids - it has taught me a lot of responsibility, along with improving my time management. Outside FFA, I participate in softball, soccer, Student Council, Spanish Club, and Key Club. After high school, my plans are to attend a 4-year college, but my major is undecided. From being in FFA, I have valued the opportunity to help me improve my public speaking and made me realize it takes hard work and dedication to be successful. The advice I would give to the younger students would be to get involved and challenge yourself.
Hello... I'm Colten. This is my senior year at Chillicothe High School. I have been a member of the Chillicothe FFA for the last three and a half years. An older sibling was also in FFA during high school. I have a placement SAE project in which I work for Trager Limestone. The variety in my project has allowed me many opportunities to gain valuable skills for my future which includes attending Linn State Technical School. I'm currently taking shop classes in my agriculture program. The two skills I have gained the most are responsibility and operating skills. Responsibility is self-defining; and by gaining more operation skills, I will be better prepared for my career in the future. My dad has had a big impact on me with everything he does. I hope I can be as successful as he is in the construction field. My advice to younger students would be to participate in a lot of activities because it will always help out in the end. One thing I figured out is knowledge and hard work equal success. Hello, I am Bridgett. This is my 4th year in FFA, and I currently hold the office as Vice-President of the Chillicothe FFA Chapter. I plan to attend the University of Missouri to major in OB/GYN Nursing in the fall of 2013 after I graduate high school. During my experience in FFA, I have grown in not only my leadership skills, but also in my Supervised Agriculture Education Project. My SAE Project has consisted of raising and showing livestock including rabbits, steers, and swine. This year, however, I plan to alter my SAE Project by broadening my animal horizons and switching to raising and showing sheep. I feel this will be in a way an adventure and a very good lesson by showing me how many leadership and responsibility skills I truly possess. Through FFA, I have participated on the Dairy Foods Team, Parliamentary Procedure in which we made it to state, and the second place state award-winning Agricultural Issues Forum Team. FFA has taught me many life lessons, but the best by far would be taking chances. If you never try, how do you learn? I would like to let all freshman and underclassmen know that it's not about what you do, it's about how you do it.
My name is Blake, and this is my senior year Chillicothe High School. I have been a member of FFA during the last three and a half years. My SAE project is raising and showing market hogs as well as working for my grandpa. I plan to attend Northwest Missouri State University and continue in the agriculture field. The two skills I have gained the most are responsibility and my ability to expand what I thought was possible in my own mind. My ag teachers have all had an impact upon me, but the biggest impact came to me at WLC where the quote we were supposed to live by was, "Doing what you can, with what you have, where you are." My advice to younger students would be to get involved, stay involved, and do everything you can for this chapter, and you will reap the benefits from it. I am Caela, and I am a senior in high school. I hold the chapter degree and have participated in state level public speaking competitions for the past three years of FFA. My SAE project has been raising ducks and chickens; and recently, it has included working at Taco Bell. This has taught me to be good with time management and has helped me improve over the past years to be better at record keeping with my income and expenses. Other than FFA, I am also involved in the CHS marching band, and I am a manager for Chillicothe's cross country team. After this year, I plan on going to college, but my major is undecided. I would suggest to younger students to think ahead for their future because, although it may be four years before they graduate, it's going to be very helpful if you already have some plans in mind and a backup just in case.
